The Moral Enforcer is a social activist or religious leader who has amassed obscene amounts of wealth and power. He has dedicated his life to manipulating the masses, by establishing right wing business and political organizations, megachurches, and vast television and radio franchises. He usually starts out as an ordained religious authority but not always.

What makes the Moral Enforcer stand out from your average hate-spewing bigot is the staggering number of his followers, the size of his checkbook, and his friends in high places. While you might have to go down to the local church to see your average Hellfire Preacher, the Moral Enforcer’s venomous indictments of homosexuals and other infidels have wormed their way into the national and international media. When a socially conservative president is in office, you can bet the influential Moral Enforcer has his ear.

Just like boisterous Preachers, the Moral Enforcer will often say shocking things for attention, such as that some recent natural disaster was not merely the result of natural geological and meteorological conditions on the planet earth; rather it is God’s punishment for tolerating homosexuals.

The Moral Enforcer invests his considerable money and influence into fighting the so-called “gay agenda”, which he assumes is the downfall of society and the total destruction of the earth (maybe the entire universe). His organizations fight this war on several fronts at once, making them formidable opponents. While he preaches hate on the airwaves and in print media, he also lobbies for anti-gay politicians and legislation, and funds the Pseudoscientists and Ex-Gays. The Moral Enforcer can seem so powerful as to be unstoppable, but we should remind ourselves of that old truism, that the bigger they are the harder they fall. The facts are never on his side, and as a prominent man once said, “facts are stubborn things”.

If Pat Robertson is the first dude who pops into your head when this homophobe type is talked about then you'd love to read about the 'Operation Blessing' scam he had going in 1994. It was a failed attempt to con people into donating money to fund his transporting of diamond mining equipment into Zaire. The country's president Mobutu was being sanctioned by the UN for war crimes and this put a damper on Robertson's plans.

An investigation into the whole incident revealed that the whole ordeal was an act of fraud by Pat but the Republican attorney general of Virginia at the time weighed in and prevented the charges due to a huge campaign donation the PR gave him. This just shows you how pathetic our justice system is if politicians can obstruct it whenever they want to.

Oh boy! I once unfortunately stumbled upon a book written by a Catholic priest that said that is was a "proven fact" that there were more natural disasters in or near populations where homosexual activities took place, and as such constituted another urgent reason why homosexuality was not to be accepted at all. It made me sick to my stomach
